Never heard of it?  The Meyer Lemon is a hybrid, whose origin is unknown but believed to be a cross between a true lemon and either the mandarin orange or orange. It was discovered growing as an ornamental plant in a dooryard in China in 1908.

The scent of Meyer Lemon is distinctive from Lemon in that it is sour like a regular lemon, but has a very sweet/floral and refreshing scent that tends to brighten everything.

This is a flavoring food item requested by many chefs due to its complex aromatic profile for their flavorful food and drink creations.
