Are you ready for the Cold and Flu Season?

ColdFluSeason2013-2014

Don’t let viruses ruin your winter holiday plans!

We’re all traveling to friends and family places during the holidays and the cold and flu viruses are all around.  While there are no wonder cures for viruses, you can boost your immune system and help prevent airborne cold and flu viruses in your home and workplace.

Many essential oils have antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial properties.  They can be used alone or in blends.  Here’s just a few suggestions:  Balsam Fir, Bay Laurel, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Black Spruce, Cedarwood, Cinnamon Leaf, Clove, Eucalyptus globules, Eucalyptus radiata, Ginger, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Melissa, Myrrh, Niaouli, Oregano, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Pine, Ravensara, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Tea Tree and Thyme (linalol).

In addition to the wide range of Arlys essential oils and synergies, we carry many excellent aromatherapy books and they also have recipes and tips for colds and flu.  Always remember to patch test before using any essential oils.  Never apply essential oils directly on the skin.  These essential oils are best applied as a rub used in a carrier oil/lotion/salve, diffused into a room, added to a personal travel inhaler, or in a bath in a carrier oil/sugar/salt.

Diffusion #1

15 drops Tea Tree    15 drops Eucalyptus radiata    10 drops Lavender
7 drops Ravensara  and   7 drops Lemon.

 Diffusion #2

●  7 drops Lavender    5 drops Thyme (linalol)    2 drops Eucalyptus radiata
and   2 drops Bay Laurel.

 Bath Blend

(Good for congestion)

5 drops Lavender    2 drops Eucalyptus radiata    2 drops Spearmint.

Stay well~

’til next time,

About Aromatherapy Contessa

I love creating aromatic blends with essential oils whether for my Arlys Naturals product lines, for fun, or for customer special orders. I'm just drawn into the veil of mystery that nature has provided through these living plants, not just in their aromatic properties, but also their natural healing properties.
